More Than Able: Redefining What’s Possible

Jenna

Some of us have been playing small - not because we lack the ability, but because somewhere along the way, fear convinced us to stay where it feels safe. We learned how to make comfort look like contentment. We learned how to make busyness look like purpose. And we learned how to tell ourselves, “Maybe next season,” every time God nudged us toward the deep end. But here’s the truth: Safe doesn’t grow us. Comfort zones don’t build courage. And playing it small doesn’t bring God glory.

When Fear Sounds Logical Fear is sneaky - it doesn’t always sound like panic or paralysis. Sometimes it sounds perfectly reasonable: “I’m just being realistic.” “It’s not the right time.” “I need to pray about it a little longer.” But what if the thing you’ve been praying for is on the other side of obedience? What if the very thing you keep waiting on… is waiting on you to move? I think about how often we shrink ourselves to fit inside other people’s comfort zones or expectations. We avoid the “scary thing” because we assume courage will come first—when in reality, courage grows after we take the step. That’s how faith works. It’s not a feeling we wait for; it’s a choice we walk in.

Doing the Scary Thing In this week’s Women Around the Well episode, “More Than Able – Redefining What’s Possible”, I sat down with the incredible Kelly Collins Linz - a woman who decided to do the scary thing anyway. She said yes to something big. Something uncomfortable. Something that stretched her faith and demanded she trust God’s timing more than her own timeline. And you know what? That scary thing? It’s making an incredible impact. Kelly’s story is a reminder that when we step out in obedience, God steps in with provision. He fills the gaps we can’t fill. He equips us in real time. Because He never asked us to be ready - He asked us to be willing.

You Are Not Behind I don’t know what your “scary thing” looks like right now. Maybe it’s starting a business. Maybe it’s going back to school. Maybe it’s sharing your story out loud for the first time. Whatever it is, hear this today: You are not behind. You are not too late. You are not disqualified. God already wrote ability into your DNA. He placed purpose inside of you on purpose. You don’t have to strive to earn it—you just have to step out to live it.

You Are More Than Able Sister, the same God who parted the Red Sea and raised the dead is the One who called you by name. If He says you’re able… you are. Not because of your résumé, your resources, or your readiness—but because He is faithful. So take the leap. Start the thing. Say the yes. Trust the process. And watch what happens when you stop letting fear write your story and start letting faith hold the pen. You are more than able.
